Breastfeeding challenges don't always happen during business hours, and I know that when you are in pain or worried about your baby, every hour counts. At Nourished Nest, I prioritize urgent situations and make every effort to provide emergency in-home or virtual consultations within 24 hours.

As a NICU RN and IBCLC, I am trained to handle clinically complex situations with a calm, expert approach. My goal is to get you back to feeding comfortably and safely as quickly as possible.

When to Request an Urgent Appointment:

• Severe Pain: If breastfeeding has become "toe-curling" or unbearable, or if you have visible damage like cracked, bleeding, or blistering nipples.

• Signs of Mastitis: If you have a painful, red, or lumpy area in your breast, especially if accompanied by fever, chills, or flu-like symptoms. Call your OB and then get scheduled with me

• Significant Weight Concerns: If your baby is not meeting their output goals (wet/dirty diapers) or if your pediatrician has immediate concerns about their weight gain.

• Sudden Feeding Refusal: If your baby is suddenly unable to latch or consistently frantic at the breast.

• NICU Transition Hurdles: If you have just arrived home and are struggling with the transition from hospital feeding to home rhythms.
